INKSPOT (2017-2020)
In 2015 the English majors at Grace college identified a problem: there was no outlet to publish creative writing through the department.
You can imagine that a writer with no outlet is unhappily muted. Rather than simmer, a group of Grace’s finest got together and formed Inkspot: the campus literary magazine. The next year they published the first issue. I caught wind of their second annual publication, and the year following I joined their team as the layout designer. I did most of their design and marketing work through 2018, 2019, and 2020.
My responsibilities ranged from evaluating entries to illustrating the marketing materials, to redesigning the logo, to even writing the editor’s letter one year. Any time an opportunity appeared to elevate the publication was one where I plugged in to help.
